History

ABLE Moving Services was initially founded in Fort Kent, Maine in 2011 by Madawaska native Dale A. Bailey.

Dale got his start in the moving business, however, in 1986 when he began working for a moving company that his grandfather had started in Presque Isle in the mid 1950’s. That moving company became part of a national chain of movers and still operates today in two Maine cities.

Dale’s early experiences in the moving business helped him realize his interest and knack in helping families and businesses move across town, across the state, and across the country.

ABLE Moving Services operates a service center in Madawaska, Maine and launched ABLE Moving Services in Downeast Maine by opening a service center in Baileyville in 2019. The Downeast service center serves Houlton to Calais/Machias, Maine’s Northern Coast and the Bar Harbor/Ellsworth area.

Dale A. Bailey

Since starting to work in his grandfather’s moving business in 1986, Dale’s work in the moving business has been varied and has included working for various moving companies, including national van line companies both in and out of the state of Maine. Dale founded ABLE Moving Services in Fort Kent, Maine in 2011. Expansion into Eastern/Downeast Maine occurred in 2019. Dale also has many years experience working in the field of education.
